Time to Heal
Come into the warmth
of my constancy
and I'll give you quiet.
Sorrow is seldom sweet,
and harder still
with loneliness
for a constant companion.
I'll give you peace
and time to heal
while you see, and sort out,
some travel-chart to
happiness.
Loving breeds all goodness,
or kills it,
and helping you back
from being hurt
is striking out
for goodness, everywhere.
Once you are well,
perhaps you'll walk head-high
into someone else's summer
and my loving you
will be all the love I've ever
known.
But, I'd rather that
than see you sorrowful
in every season's rainfall.
